In attendance:   Cliff Hannon, Cathy Bond, Theresa Macklin, Jim Delorie, Jill Massey, Chris McMorrow, Tom Munson, Francis Roderigue, & Ken Walsh

Cathy Bond:   Reported that our club is almost breaking even with the $100 breakfast expense. Our recent meeting attendance is growing which is helping. Cathy also reviewed the budget and proceeds thus far this year from Happy Dollars, Wreath Sales, and other fundraisers.

Jim Delorie:  Reported amount collected to date for the wreath sales. Rotary Members who have not turned in their money yet need to do so in order to calculate the proceeds. We have collected enough for the $1,000 Scholarship; but need all proceeds to calculate the amount to donate to Habitat for Humanity. Tom Munson noted that we have not collected from The City of Waterville wreath sales. Also discussed was the 2009 Mini Golf Tournament. Jim will contact Gifford's Ice Cream and set a date soon.

Cliff Hannon:   Discussed that the India project has been canceled. The new project will be for a vehicle for Safe Passage. Jill Massey is planning another trip to Guatemala in March. Chris McMorrow commented how nice it is to have a Waterville Sunrise member involved in this project.

Cliff also discussed that another fundraiser would be nice for March. Ken Walsh commented that a challenge with the other Rotary Club of Waterville would be an idea for raising money for the Polar Dip to be held on March 7th. Proceeds would benefit the Alfond Youth Center's after school program. Ken has stated that the after school program has grown tremendously this year accounting for extra needed staff and expenses. All agreed this would be a great fundraiser and a great way to give back the The Alfond Youth Center who donates the space for both clubs.

Cliff also discussed that it would be nice to have a Club Assembly soon and also have some old and new members completed their classification speeches.

Francis Rodrigue:  Francis reported on Public Relation issues. Business cards for our club have been created with info of our meeting time & place. Cards can be given to speakers or guests to invite them to our meetings.

The Public Relations committee is meeting at the Early Bird Restaurant on January 14th @ 7:00 am to discuss working on Rotary Signs to be installed in areas around the City of Waterville. Francis also discussed the possibility of a Rotary flyer for our club.

The website is up and running and he has encouraged all members to visit and update their info. Cliff will be posting pictures of club members who have not done so yet. Francis also discussed that we may want to purchase the .org so it won't be obtained by other questionable organizations. Also the Club email is:  info@watervillesunriserotary.com   a question arose to who would be in charge of answering these emails. Francis also discussed other sites to add our website to such as Reddit, facebook, myspace; etc.

We are a member to The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce but need to add our webpage as a link.
